Heartsick Tired of Supporting Muslim Countries

Yesterday a banner was seen in Cairo: “USA, why do you support the tyrant and not the people?” Today, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said the administration will accept the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt’s future but they must follow the administration’s guidelines, which include rejecting violence and accepting democracy. Right.

Muslim Countries in Green

Am I the only one disgusted with, and heartsick of being forced to deal with Islam?  I ask Egyptians, who do you believe will lead you to peace and prosperity? Mohamed ElBaradei? The Muslim Brotherhood? ElBaradei is no friend of the U.S. or any free world country. We champion your bravery and your cause, but we are heartsick at your embrace of the Brotherhood and ElBaradei’s leadership. America watched as ElBaradei knowingly ushered in Iran’s nuclear program. Conservatives have no tolerance for Mohamed ElBaradei, and consider this.

The Muslim Brotherhood now has a more prominent position inside your mostly secular homeland, and we continue to ponder the fate of the people in the streets. This from Gibbs’ statement today:

The statement was an acknowledgment that any popularly accepted new government will probably include groups that are not considered friendly to U.S. interests, and was a signal that the White House is prepared for that probability after 30 years of reliable relations with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Monday’s statement was a “pretty clear sign that the U.S. isn’t going to advocate a narrow form of pluralism, but a broad one,” said Robert Malley, a Mideast peace negotiator in the Clinton administration. U.S. officials have previously pressed for broader participation in Egypt’s government.

President George W. Bush, in November 2003, asked this:

“Are the peoples of the Middle East somehow beyond the reach of liberty? Are millions of men and women and children condemned by history or culture to live in despotism? Are they alone never to know freedom and never even to have a choice in the matter?”

At that time, Bush saw Islamic countries in a “global democratic revolution,” as the statue of Saddam Hussein fell, and the brutal dictator was found hiding in a fox hole a mere month after Bush’s speech. Bush’s mistake was equating the successful spread of democracy in parts of Europe with the possibility of the same in Muslim countries. The loss-and-injuries-of-thousands-of-our military later, and we know the folly of comparing the two.

There are no Muslim countries living in peace, and certainly not with prosperity, liberty or freedom as the free world knows it. Can you move to Dubai? Dubai is about the best to be offered for one wanting to live in freedom in a Muslim land. Sharia is the law there, but, oh well… Americans get it: “secular” governance in an Islamic country is an oxymoron.

Barack Obama stood in Cairo in June 2009 and told you that Egypt “represents the harmony between tradition and progress.” He told you that non-Islamic countries have “denied rights and opportunities to you.” Really? What opportunities can a free country grant to an Islamic country?

I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world; one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect; and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles – principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.

We see no principles of justice and progress in Islam. We see no dignity for your women or girls or even your young boys. We see no dignity for any Muslim unless he holds absolute power.

In the same speech Obama reiterated America’s commitment to allow Muslims in the U.S. the full freedom to practice their religion. We allow your Saudi-funded madrasses, and financially support some of them around the world. We allow your imams on our soil to spread their hate for America, yet Christians in Muslim lands are persecuted in the timeless, ancient manner of the Prophet Muhammed – they are beheaded and burned, stabbed to death and imprisoned.

I ask you again, who will lead you to peace? Who will lead you to prosperity bringing the norms of living your day with a home, food on your table and education for your children? I’m sick and tired of having to think about Islamic lands, because you thwart our efforts to do anything for you outside of sending our hard-earned dollars.

I have no more patience for caring about your plight, but I do care about Israel, and if you had a soul, you also would care about your fellow man. Simply tell your brothers to stop the “kill the Jews” mission, and I might start caring again, but today, I am particularly offended that you are judgmental of my decisions, and I will urge my government to ban all foreign aid to Muslim countries.

But hey, it’s a happy day in Cairo with Barack Obama publicly in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood, so stash your banners for the coming day when you beg us to rid your lives of your newest tryrant. The Conservative Lady has a very comprehensive article on the Muslim Brotherhood and links to the website showing their English version and the Arabic version – both very different. This is what Islam does – they deceive.

Thank you to Memeorandum for linking this article. See more of the Memorandum thread here. Look for U.S. open to a role for Islamists in new Egypt.

  • Good post. Have you noticed even before Egypt the media seemed to be running many articles about Muslims in the US.I wonder why since Muslims make up less than 1% of US pop? Obama is too cozy w Musims and the Musim Brotherhood.JS

  • I find it strange for the majority of Egyptians living on $2 a day can afford Blackberries?

  • “Obama reiterated America’s commitment to allow Muslims in the U.S. the full freedom to practice their religion.” Does that mean Sharia Law, honor killings, beheadings, etc.? And people say he’s not Muslim.

  • DC

If you help oust a leader from a country, that does not mean that you then have the right to dictate to said country who they can and cannot have leading them.

Why shouldnt muslims be allowed to practice their faith in the USA fully? There are two middle eastern faiths there already doing just that, why not a third one?

That people cant distinguish between a culture and a faith is worrying. To me in the UK, the american culture is full of greed, guns and commercialism, yet so many people in that supposedly christian country are exactly that – Christian.
Does that mean that the culture the rest of the world sees your country as having determines your faith? Is it any wonder then why the muslim world is so concerned about america? If they are judging you by the way you judge Muslim countries and Muslim people then there is little hope. Americans condemn muslim states and use shallow generalisations that they little understand themselves but repeat ad-hoc about countries they have never visited and faiths who’s Holy Book they have never read. A little education for the USA’s people about the rest of the world might help, from visiting your country, many of you know little about the neighbouring states, never mind countries on the other side of the world.

America needs to adjust its perspective – your view, just because you have it, may work for your country, it doesnt mean its going to work for everywhere else. Not everyone wants a culture that revels in commercialism, sees the health of its nation as something only those that can afford it deserve, I could go on.

Learn to respect other people and their faiths, get a bit of proper knowledge, who knows, it may be an eye opener.

    • In other words, DC and others of this thought would impose Shar’ia Law on their communities and eventually the whole of the US. I pose this to the Muslim community: Why don’t you conform to the US Constitution and renounce your 7th century ways? Failing that, go to the hellholes you came from. I am sure that DC and others would rather live in those ratholes than in Freedom here.

      • Katie, you said: “Why don’t you conform to the US Constitution and renounce your 7th century ways?”

They can do whatever they want, so long as they are perpetrating their obscenities outside the U.S., because I AM SICK AND TIRED OF FEELING SORRY FOR THEM.

Just don’t ask for our money – not a dime.

    • DC, if we, a free country, will spend our money, our treasure, our military might (as we do in the case of Egypt), then when there is civil unrest, we are already vested. Why would and should we want an oppressor in office, when we will continue to send our hard-earned billions to them?

Muslim are able to practice much of their faith in the U.S. but we do frown on those honor killings and the jihads. You follow your holy book, but we will no longer look the other way.

No other religion believes that their Supreme Being whispers in their ear and instructs them to strap a suicide belt on a 14-year-old, or behead their wives and daughters. Your problem is that many, many of us now understand what is behind the “faith.” It’s clear. You say the Koran is Allah’s words. So be it. Islam will never live in peace.

We see young people yearning for their freedom. For the opportunity to raise their families as they wish, own a business and criticize their government, like a free people. It NEVER HAPPENS. Shame on you for supporting their oppressors.

Pardon us if we choose to be sick and tired of worrying about oppressed Muslims all over the world. Don’t talk to me about “proper knowledge,” or “respect.” We’ve tried. You just continue to show us over, and over who and what you really are.

DC, you stay over there in the UK with your growing number of no-go zones. I wouldn’t care about any of this if you weren’t killing Americans in jihad, if you received none of our money, and if you weren’t killing your daughters and wives on American soil.

Muslims are concerned about Americans? Let me tell you, if your women were free to express themselves – let’s start with Iraq, you can bet they are grateful their girls can go to school and are no longer subject to Saddam’s filthy sons. What’s wrong with the Arab men, anyway, that they have to assault all the women? Animals.
