The Girls Scouts of America posted an online pledge to contact politicians and push a green agenda to pass emissions-reducing legislation. They also sell cookies…or thought they might not. The “pledge” has been taken down.
One of the tenets of the pledge was to, “Inform my elected local, state, and federal officials about my views on environmental policies and urge them to support legislation that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and promotes energy efficiency and renewable technologies.”
The GSA worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to write the pledge, but GSA spokeswoman, Michelle Tompkins, said the organization is not aligning itself with the Obama Administration and they have never taken a position on carbon-emissions-reduction.
