Keith Olbermann tagging Bristol Palin as the World’s Worst Person officially neuters the man from any consideration as a legitimate, worthwhile opinion on anything to do with the world. As Bristol answered: “what he lacks in originality, he makes up for with insincere incredulity.” See videos below.
Before going on with the Olbermann story, this quote from Bristol Palin for a Harper’s Bazaar story in May 2010, shows the tremendous strength of this young woman:
In the interview, Bristol is completely candid. On being pregnant during the the 2008 campaign, she explains, “it was kind of humiliating. . . great, I’m 17 years old, I’m 40 pounds overweight with a big belly on me, all my friends are at school watching this on the news…It’s not like we all sat down and were like, ‘Alright, here’s the birds and the bees.’ Truly, my parents just assumed that I wasn’t doing anything. And it was a shock for us all.”
Olbermann was rubbed raw by Bristol’s advocacy for abstinence and safe sex, since at least once, she did neither and now has a 2-year-old son. Today she serves as an ‘ambassador’ for the Candies Foundation, promoting teen pregnancy awareness and prevention education. Bristol characterizes her work as “educating teenagers about the real world-risks of premarital sex.”
Mr. Olbermann fails to understand that in order to have credibility as a spokesperson, it sometimes takes a person who has made mistakes. Parents warn their children about the mistakes they made so they are not repeated. Former gang members travel to schools to educate teenagers about the risks of gang life. Recovered addicts lecture to others about the risks of alcohol and drug abuse. And yes, a teen mother talks about the benefits of preventing teen pregnancy.
I have never claimed to be perfect. If that makes me the “worst person in the world” to Mr. Olbermann, then I must apologize for not being absolutely faultless like he undoubtedly must be.
To Mr. Olbermann let me say this: you can attack me all you want. But you will not stop me from getting my message out about teen pregnancy prevention. And one day, if you ever have a daughter, you may change your mind about me.
I’m sure Bristol’s parents, Todd and Sarah, have schooled their daughter on Olbermann’s inconsequential-ness, along with his consistently disappearing viewers. The man has few. It gets worse each quarter – embarrassingly worse. Bristol, Keith Olbermann makes a living off the rear end of liberalism.
