Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) was on Hugh Hewitt’s program yesterday and says he will not vote for anything that raises taxes, and the current plan does just that, including raising “taxes” and “death taxes,” and he will not vote for cloture. DeMint wants to find a way to pay for unemployment extensions, and reduce deficit spending.
Quote to Remember:
“We don’t need a temporary economy which means we don’t mean a temporary tax rate. a permanent extension of our current tax rates would all businesses to plan 5 to 10 years in advance and that’s how you build an economy.” ~ Senator Jim DeMint
DeMint says the thing that “killed the 1994 revolution” is new people came in, but the guys who had been there forever took over the committee chairmanships and things went down hill from there.” In the current’tax deal’ negotiations, new members to the Senate were not consulted. Listen to the questions Hewitt asks beginning at about the 2:00 mark. Here we go. Bob, Your Humble Dispatcher, has more at The Camp of the Saints – It’s DeMinty, It’s De_Lovely.
