Feds Force Oklahoma Bank to Remove Crosses and Bible Verse

The Federal Reserve forced a small bank in Perkins, Oklahoma to remove a verse from the Bible and Christian crosses from it’s website. “Federal examiners” said the “religious decoration” was inappropriate. The good news is Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and Rep. Frank Lucas (R-OK) got involved and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City stepped in, and the website is back as it was before the feds got involved.

Jim Inhofe and Frank Lucas

Inhofe and Lucas sent a letter to Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernake saying the federal order was unconstitutional, and without precedent (and the letter was copied to the DOJ and Eric Holder):

“Mr. Chairman, in our years of public service we have seldom encountered a more alarming case of heavy-handed interpretation and enforcement of federal regulations to the exclusion of any other consideration or law, including the Supreme Law of the Land,” the two Oklahoma Republicans stated.
In addition, they stated, that interpretation of a Federal Reserve regulation was applied to all religious items within customers’ view, including items in the bank lobby and even religious-themed personal jewelry.

“The bank was told that failure to comply would result in referral of the matter to the Department of Justice for further enforcement actions,” Inhofe and Lucas wrote.

If this was, indeed, without precedent, I have to ask why the feds’ antennae went up over a small bank in Perkins, Oklahoma. A guess might be that Senator Inhofe recently caused a ruckus when he refused to continue his long participation in Tulsa’s Christmas Parade of Lights, after it was renamed Tulsa Holiday Parade of Lights. I smell the Department of Justice all over this. Jim Inhofe is an inconvenient thorn in the federal-government-wide assault on the Constitution.

The feds forcing the removal of everything Christian will be a theme as long as Barack Obama is in the Oval Office, and Eric Holder heads the Department of Justice. The quick action in this case is encouraging. We must meet each assault head-on, persist and maintain to keep the federal insanity out of our every day lives. Thank you to Rep. Frank Lucas of Oklahoma’s 3rd District – another stellar conservative, and Sen. Inhofe. Thanks to the Tulsa World for the photo.

  • Something smells rotten in Denmark to me. Thank goodness we have patriots like Sen. Inhofe and Rep. Frank Lucas who stood up for the constitution and against these thugs in the WH and Justice Dept.

  • I read about this yesterday at Atlas, but I am very happy to see this new information from you, Maggie, thank you so much! Like Teresa above me, I am very happy to see that people stepped up and righted this ridiculous wrong, and I agree with you, Maggie, I smell Barry & Eric’s minions all over this.

Can’t add a word to what Zilla just said!
If they pulled that BS at my bank, I’d raise such a public ruckus that I’d be thrown in jail! Oops…guess I just did add a word—-

  • Am I the only one who thinks some of these people are going around just looking for something to have a temper tantrum over? Would they have the same reaction if it had been a Muslim religious decoration? How about a decoration promoting homosexuality? I hate to sound so pessimistic, but I think we all know the answer to both of those questions.

  • The Culture Wars continues. It is correct, to assume that as long as this administration is in charge, such things will continue.

  • This is a telling fact. It’s a keyhole, if you get close enough you can see an awful lot going on behind the doors.

It tells you who’e really behind the secularist stance of the thug-in-chief. It tells you who’s been propping him up all along the way. It tells you who’s really calling the shots to rob Americans of their hard-earned money, by breaking the economy, by causing inflation, etc. It tells you who’s writing the teleprompter scripts for this worthless pawn, who’s only too happy to oblige.

  • If the patrons of the bank don’t have a problem, why should the government.

Only goes to prove that Stinky is a Muslim.
