Phillip Duggan Marine Stabbed at Best Buy: Toys for Tots Time

While apprehending a man shoplifting a laptop from Best Buy in Georgia, a U.S. Marine reservist, Cpl. Phillip Duggan, was stabbed by the thief as he fled from the store. Just another day in the life of a Marine, out to remind us that it is Toys for Tots time in America. See a video below.

Cpl. Duggan was working the Toys For Tots program when he sustained a non-life threatening stab wound to his back.

New, unwrapped gifts are accepted by Toys for Tots through December 5th (just a few days away) and money is accepted at any Toys R Us or Babies R Us store across the U.S.

Update 5:40 CST 11//17/10: Cpl Duggan is 24 years old. The stabbing happened at Augusta, Georgia’s Best Buy on Walton Way Extension on Friday (yesterday). The thief had to cameras as well as the laptop stuffed into his pants. The thief’s name is Tracey Attaway, 39, of Waynesboro, Georgia. Duggan received stitches and was released, then made his way to a Wal-Mart to donate a toy for Toys for Tots.
