Britain’s current snowstorm is said to be the worst in 17 years and “will” grip the country for “weeks to come.” Not “may” grip the country, but “will” grip the country for weeks. Another reports suggests snow and ice will continue for 10 days.
With rain, sleet and snow (some as high as 15 inches) falling across the country, including in London, North East England, Scotland, Wales are affected the most. Temperatures are as low as 14 deg. F.
Black ice and snow has closed more than 140 schools. While England is no stranger to arctic condition in winter, the freezing temps and accompanying precipitation usually does not hit this early in the Fall-Winter season.
