Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) is the perfect profile of today’s Democrat. No respect for the rules of the U.S. Constitution. No respect for his oath of office, swearing allegiance to the Constitution.

Rules? This. Is. Congress! [Daniel Foster]
Yes, Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings (Fla.) just said this in the most powerful committee of the United States House of Representatives. The people’s house:
“There ain’t no rules here, we’re trying to accomplish something. . . .All this talk about rules. . . When the deal goes down . . . we make ’em up as we go along.”
Alcee Hastings was nominated and confirmed for a seat on the U.S. District Court for Florida’s Southern District in 1979. He served until late 1989 when was charged with bribery and perjury, then impeached on charges of bribery and perjury by the U.S. House of Representatives. He was then convicted of bribery and perjury by the U.S. Senate. He was removed from the bench. His co-conspirator went to prison but was given a full-pardon by Bill Clinton.
Hastings was elected to the U.S. House in 1992 in a newly created, heavily Democratic district in Florida. He serves on the House Rules Committee and the Intelligence Committee. He is the chairman of the subcommittee on Legislative and Budget Process.
Hastings took this oath:
“I, Alcee Hastings, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” ~ Rep. Alcee Hastings
